Making the dream -- a reality!

YSCA is a governing body exclusively for Christian skateboarding and inline skating.

Boys, girls, men, and women of all ages will compete in age groups as YSCA church teams against other YSCA church teams in county wide competitions.  Top riders from each age group will form a county regional team and the first place church team from each county qualify to compete in the annual state championships.  Top riders from each age division at state competitions will form a state team.  The state team and each state's first place church team qualify for the national championships.

YSCA will help each church set up a portable skate park in their church parking lot.  We have standardized guidelines for insurance, liability waiver, ramp materials, safety factors, experience levels, streets courses, half pipes, rules, etc.

We would like to see these portable skate parks available as weather permits year round.  We see these skate parks as an integral part of the youth centers we are establishing.  We encourage these youth centers to host a Friday or Saturday night skate jam, followed by an adolescent run peer support group meeting, and followed by another skate session with the option to skate or watch a surf, skate, snowboard, etc. video.  We can host dances, have concerts, hold local and Pro-Am contests, invite professional Christian skaters, surfers, and snowboarders to come and speak.

Our teams will compete from June thru September.  Contests will be held on Sundays after church.  Parents and kids will return to the church in the afternoon ready to rock and roll.  Moreover, the recreation and fun of this rapidly growing sport combined with Christian camaraderie will flourish.

State events are held the last week of August.  National events will  be held in the first week of September at different locations every years throughout the United States.

The events are intended to promote the sport of skateboarding and inline skating, be fun for competitors of all ages and abilities, develop athletic skills, and be the qualifiers for state, national, and international competition.

We perceive much more than that. In the near future, we would like to see team coaches, camera crews, sports motivators, clothing, and accessories.  We anticipate a YSCA magazine so that young skaters can read a sound publication to further their education, which will be a healthy replacement for the typical secular skate trash that is having a negative influence on our youth.

Within a few years, we hope that every skateboarder in your church group has an YSCA sticker on his or her board.  Why not?  Our kids, every one of them, are the base of our Christian pyramid.  At the top of the pyramid is Jesus Christ.  That is why we are here.

Former three-time USASA (United States of America Snowboarding Association) national champion Glen Caulkins is the visionary of YSCA.

I saw the positive effects USASA was having on my life and all the friends I was making. I watched the way kids and parents of all ages we acting like one big family. I was 36 when I started competing but I was just as important as the hottest adolescent rider we had.  If I won my division it helped our team to place higher or win the over all national title.  I watched the way everything ran and the vision for YSCA was divinely inspired.
